Call for Volunteers: 1st Los Angeles Korean Film Festival
The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA) will host the 1st Los Angeles Korean Film Festival (LAKFF) from September 24-26, 2026, and is seeking volunteers to join us. We welcome anyone who is interested in Korean cinema, film festivals and cultural events.
▢︎Recruitment Information
1) Application Period : August 27 - September 19, 2026
2) Number of Volunteers : Approximately 20 across two positions

4) Volunteer Period : September 24 - September 26, 2026
5) Locations: Harmony Gold Preview House (7655 Sunset Blvd, LA, CA 90046)

※︎ Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and may close early depending on the number of applications received.
※︎ Applicants may indicate their preferred dates and location(s) based on their availability.
※︎ Final schedules and assignments will be determined based on festival needs and each volunteer's availability.
※︎ Selected volunteers are required to attend an in-person orientation and training session prior to the festival. Online participation will also be available.▢︎Volunteer Positions
1) General Volunteers
- Assist with audience guidance and guest services
- Assist with ticket registration and check-in
- Support screening operations and on-site activities
- Assist with festival events and programs
- Provide general support for festival operations and other on-site duties as needed
2) Interpretation Volunteers
- Provide Korean-English interpretation for Korean guest speakers and invited guests during festival programs and on-site activities
- Provide Korean-English interpretation during local media interviews with Korean guests
- Provide interpretation support backstage during the festival
- Provide interpretation support for other festival programs and activities as needed
※︎ Applicants with interpretation experience in film, entertainment, media, cultural events, conferences or related fields are preferred for interpretation volunteer positions. Interpretation volunteers are required to complete the Google form application and submit a resume by email to sungho@urbancreator.net.▢︎Eligibility
1) Be 18 years of age or older at the time of application and reside in the Los Angeles area
2) Have an interest in Korean cinema, film festivals, and cultural events
3) Be available to attend the designated orientation and training sessions
4) Be available to participate in assigned shifts during the festival period of September 24 - 26, 2026
5) For general volunteer positions, Korean language proficiency is preferred but not required
6) For interpretation volunteer positions, be able to communicate professionally in both Korean and English▢︎Recruitment & Selection Schedule
1) Application Period : August 27 - September 19, 2026
2) Selection Notification : Only selected applicants will be contacted individually.
3) Orientation : September 2026 (The date, time and location will be provided individually to selected volunteers)
4) Volunteer Period : September 24 - 26, 2026
5) Volunteer Hours : Festival operating hours are approximately 10 AM - 10 PM during the festival period. Actual volunteer shifts will vary depending on assigned duties and schedules.

1) Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in events, film festivals, cultural programs or volunteer activities.
2) Applicants may be excluded from consideration if the information provided in the application is inaccurate or required information is missing.
3) Volunteer positions and specific assignments may be adjusted based on festival operational needs.▢︎Volunteer Responsibilities
1) Attend all designated training sessions including orientation
2) Wear the official festival T-shirt and ID badge during assigned volunteer shifts▢︎Volunteer Benefits
1) Certificate of Volunteer Service issued by the KCCLA
2) Official LAKFF volunteer merchandise, including a T-shirt and cap, and volunteer ID badge
3) Meals or meal allowance during assigned volunteer shifts
