'The Twelve Panels of Grace' Lights of Korea: Jinju Silk Lanterns Event Period Jan 15, 2026 - Feb 28, 2026
'The Twelve Panels of Grace' Lights of Korea: Jinju Silk Lanterns This exhibition offers a contemporary interpretation of Jinju silk lanterns, a heritage rooted in the historic center of Korean sericulture. The design draws inspiration from the graceful silhouette of the twelve-panel skirt featured in the iconic painting Portrait of a Beauty by Shin, Yun-bok, a legendary artist of the Joseon Dynasty. Layered in a circular embrace, these lanterns evoke the warmth and generosity associated with the maternal figure in Korean tradition. Through the soft translucence and fluid curves of silk, we invite you to experience the emotional resonance of light, color, and space. ●Period : January 15th, 2026 - February 28, 2026 ●Venue : The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles 2F Art Gallery (5505 Wilshire Blvd, LA, CA 90036) ●Operation Hours : Mon - Fri 9 AM - 5 PM, Sat 9 AM - 1 PM (Closed on holidays) This exhibition is presented by the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA) in collaboration with the City of Jinju as part of the 2025 Touring K-Arts Program.
